While wasting my life away
stumbling last night, I came across an interesting little flash game called
Robokill by
Rock Solid Arcade. Right off the bat I assumed it was another lame flash game, but I figured I would give it a try. Boy was I wrong.
It's a top down view that couldn't help but remind me of the original Zelda game. Every room is the same size, and can have one door on each wall, and they only open after you clear out the room. The controls were a little wonky at first, but I found myself getting used to them fairly quickly. It plays like a Diablo style game, only you are a mech and you run around blasting robots and boxes to bits with different types of guns.
The gun drops are actually randomized much like the Diablo series, and there are even "Uncommon" and "Rare" dropped items that have special abilities on them besides the standard Damage and Rate of Fire. Plus there are a few different types of Utility tools that will help your shields regenerate or do extra damage in combat when you need it.
I ended up playing for about an hour and a half before I realized it, and had to stop. The game has a buy option, but during my time I didn't notice anything restricting me while playing for free, maybe there are more weapons or mechs I don't really know, but I do know this game was definitely fun!
I recommend giving it a try, if you want some fast-paced robot shooting fun.
